Our 2020-2021 season was a great learning experience for Les Muses Chorale. Despite the rehearsal and concert-gathering restrictions put in place for COVID-19 prevention, our performers continued expressing their passion for choral music in a creative virtual format.

Starting in Summer 2020, we presented Les Muses Chorale at Home with our first video performance of the season, featuring César Cui’s “L’onde est endormie.” This performance was followed by a performance of Antonio Vivaldi’s “Vedro con mio diletto,” accompanied by cellist Eliana Zimmerman. Our third virtual performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Edelweiss” from “The Sound of Music” in collaboration with Alegria Contemporary Ballet Company was featured alongside 20 other choirs from across Quebec at the online event “Le Québec Chante 2021” (“Quebec Sings 2021”). Our final performance of the year was the “Sanctus” movement from Gabriel Fauré’s “Messe de Requiem Op. 48.” All video performances were shared on YouTube and can be found as a playlist here

Our work could not have been possible without our fantastic Artistic Director and Conductor Dr. Gohar Manvelyan, the various artists with whom we collaborated, and our sound engineer for all four video mosaics, Samuel Jacques. In spite of the difficult circumstances, we were able to create a variety of projects and produce beautiful and quality music together. We hope you enjoyed hearing us create music together virtually this past year!
